Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop automation equipment, fixtures, special purpose machines (SPMs), material handling systems, and tooling solutions based on customer and project requirements.
  • Create detailed mechanical designs, assembly layouts, manufacturing drawings, and documentation for industrial automation projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations related to structural integrity, machine components, mechanisms, actuators, and system performance.
  • Design and develop fixtures, checking fixtures, packaging machines, gantries, lifters, manual and pneumatic slides, and other automation equipment.
  • Select and integrate mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and material handling devices.
  • Ensure designs comply with GD&T standards, manufacturability requirements, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, controls, procurement, and project management to ensure successful project execution.
  • Interact with suppliers and customers to support design reviews, technical discussions, and project implementation activities.
  • Participate in project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Support installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience in mechanical design of automation systems, fixtures, special purpose machines (SPMs), tooling, or material handling equipment.
  • Strong hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Sound knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design calculations and machine design principles.
  • Experience in design and development of:
    • Fixtures and checking fixtures
    • Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)
    • Sheet metal and fabricated structures
    • Material handling equipment
    • Packaging machines
    • Gantries, lifters, manual and pneumatic slides
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Motor and gearbox selection
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM/PLM systems.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience in project planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Exposure to global customer interactions will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Pneumatics, CAE, and Controls Engineering will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and customer-facing environments.
