Key Responsibilities
- Understand project scope from Project Leader and interpret WBS to create execution plans.
- Provide accurate effort estimations and timelines for project planning.
- Prepare manufacturing and engineering drawings in line with customer specifications.
- Develop 2D and 3D models for compressor packages, including GA and foundation drawings.
- Design and detail base frames, fabrication drawings, and piping systems (cooling water, lube oil, inter-stage piping, tubing layouts).
- Submit design deliverables for internal and customer review; incorporate feedback and obtain approvals.
- Present progress and milestone updates to Lead Engineer / Project Leader and implement required changes.
- Maintain daily status tracking and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and deliver outputs with a “First Time Right” approach.
- Conduct self and team quality checks to ensure error-free outputs.
- Act as primary coordination interface between organization and external design agencies.
- Communicate design expectations, standards, and deliverables clearly to external teams.
- Resolve technical queries and ensure smooth project execution and alignment.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in design engineering or similar roles.
- Strong 2D drafting and 3D CAD modelling capabilities in any of the following
- SolidWorks
- Autodesk Inventor
- AutoCAD
- Enovia
- Experience in compressor packaging, piping design, and fabrication detailing will be added advantage.
- Knowledge of ASME codes for pressure vessels and piping systems.
- Familiarity with API 614 (lube oil systems), DIN, and ISO standards.
- Basic understanding of centrifugal compressors, piping systems, pressure vessels, and lube oil system design.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
- Detail-oriented with high focus on quality delivery.
- Team player with strong initiative and ownership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
